Have you ever wanted to draw dancers live like Edgar Degas?
Sketch Rogue Dancers during rehearsal for their production of “Hotel Macbeth”. The classic Shakespeare drama retold through modern music set in a 1960s Hotel.
At the end of the workshop the artists reveal their work to the dancers, and ask questions. Photography is encouraged to help capture still movement for study. While the dancers warm up so will the artists with quick sketch exercises and then the fun begins! Artists are free to get inspired, create, and learn from one another.
Beginners are welcome! We want to share the spark and joy of creative storytelling and artistry of all forms with everyone. Contact us with any questions.

Bring your preferred setup for easels, chairs etc. If you have questions, please reach out. We want to be accessible for all.
What to expect: This is a fast paced environment with bright lights and loud music that is a lot of fun! But it can also feel overwhelming for some. As an artist in the dance environment I can share some tips for when I want to focus. Bring a hat if the stage/studio lights feel intense or are distracting and headphones or earplugs for music volume sensitivity. The dancers are working too, they take breaks and so will we! It is an open rehearsal so you can move around, talk with other artists, grab drinks and snacks etc.
The dance studio flooring is unique and expensive. Help us keep it in good shape by wearing soft sole shoes. Like tennis shoes etc. If you bring your own setup be mindful of any sharp pieces. We will have rugs at the artist stations and high traffic areas, thank you so much!
The $10 entry fee reserves your spot for the workshop and studio space. Drinks & Snacks will be available for a donation to Rogue Dance.
This is a pay what you wish event. We want this experience to be accessible to all, any additional donations during or after the event are appreciated & will go towards costumes for our next show!
